       A New Pocket Park ?
All Pocket Parks depend upon community involvement. It is essential that the following questions be asked and answered before any new Pocket Park can be established.
  • Has reasonable effort been made to inform all local residents and stakeholders of the creation of a Pocket Park? Objections heard and opportunity for people to register their support?

  • Is the pool of volunteers large enough to provide a committee and to help with the practical aspects of management?

  • Are there signs of long-term commitment or is it mainly short-term enthusiasm and fervour?

  • Is there a suitable site in the neighbourhood?

  • Is the site in a suitable location for its intended use?

  • Would the site be easily accessible to all members of the community?

  • Who currently owns the site and will the owner sell or lease the land?

  • Does it have any wildlife, heritage or landscape value?

  • Who can the group approach for financial support?
