       Funding
Proposed new Pocket Parks qualify for a start-up grant of up to £4,000 from Northamptonshire County Council and the local district or borough council.

The grant represents 75% of the start-up costs of the new Pocket Park. In order to qualify for the grant and to demonstrate commitment, the local community must provide the remaining 25%.

In addition, the county council may also provide additional finances to help secure the purchase of land or a contribution towards an expensive piece of essential infrastructure or a piece of equipment for common usage, e.g. a shredding machine.

Once a Pocket Park has been opened it does not receive any further funding from the county council.

If the start-up costs of a new Pocket Park are more than the theoretical maximum of £5,333 provided by the county council and local district or borough council grant and the 25% funding provided by the Pocket Park group, then the community must find the additional funding.

Other sources of funding are available to Pocket Park groups, for example private business sponsorship or national lottery funding such as awards for all.
