Case Study 2 - Kettering General Hospital
Located within hospital grounds, this urban green space is open to hospital users and the general public and has won the BT Countryside for All Midlands Award.

Volunteers from the hospital staff, local residents, occupational therapy patients, the children's ward and local day centres have created a pond with dipping platform, butterfly garden and raised sensory beds, a human sundial, tree and shrub plantations, a circular fitness trail for all ability levels, composting area, information boards and benches.

Used as a venue for the hospital fete and other community events, the park is promoted in the hospital journal and local press. Future plans include facilities for those with visual impairment and giving extra support to the Song Thrush through the Biodiversity Action Plan.
